Billy left with Charlie, a little confused. He still had sleep in his eyes and hadn't really had breakfast, and everyone got to the coffee before him. He didn't even have shoes on, not even sandals. So he makes no attempt to hide his confusion at her sudden question.

He scrubbed a hand through his hair, letting out a sigh. "I'd be glad to tell you everything," or whatever it was he could come up with to cover the weirdness, "But you mind if I at least get my shoes first?"
